Medical Assistant Students Teach Preschoolers About Nutrition
Healthy eating should start young, which is why Medical Assistant students at The Tech Center at PNW BOCES paid a visit to the on-campus preschool, Teens and Tots, to talk about nutrition with the young students.
“We taught them about what a healthy plate of food should look like and proper proportions of fruits and vegetables,” said Medical Assistant student Rosa Sinchi, from Hendrick Hudson High School.
“We also taught them about how certain foods affect their teeth,” so they can develop healthy habits, Sinchi said.
Was all this science too much for the preschoolers? “Not at all!” Sinchi said. “They understood perfectly! They are really smart!”
