DUTIES:
Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a Practical Nursing Instructor to facilitate learning for honors level high school students in the New Visions Health program. They will explore clinical and non-clinical health careers with rotations at Northwell/Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY. The Instructor will also teach Certified Nursing Aides and prepare students for the Nurses Aide certification through theory preparation as well as clinical rotations at area nursing homes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a New York State Education Department issued Practical Nursing, 7-12 certificate. Must also be a qualified RN or BSN with strong clinical experience.

DUTIES:
Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates an opening for a Leave Replacement Social Worker to work with students with disabilities attending PNW BOCES programs. Depending upon assignments, duties include completing psycho-social assessments, completing social histories, working with students' families and support networks, collaborating with other professionals and/or agencies that provide services, providing referral and linking services for both students and families, conducting needs assessments, assisting families in completing necessary applications for recommended services, providing indicated IEP individual and group counseling services, organizing and running parent support groups, completing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, and maintaining accurate documentation of services provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred candidates will be bi-lingual, and have extensive experience with the regulations and trends pertaining to special education, including transition planning. MSW, CSW, School Social Worker Certification is required. Preferred candidates will also have their BCBA.

CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:

Messenger & Science Kit Assembler

DUTIES:
Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a Messenger/Science Kit Assembler. This hourly position includes two titles: Science Kit Assembler (80%) and Messenger (20%) (total of 25 hours per week) for the Science 21 Program. Messenger responsibilities include operating a motor vehicle to pick-up/deliver science kits to schools in Northern Westchester and Putnam. The Science Kit Assembler position includes assembly of educational science kits, and receiving and storing inventory. Related work as required by each position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Good knowledge of safety standards involved in the operation of a light truck and a forklift, and must be familiar with Westchester and Putnam county roadways. Must be able to lift 45 lbs. repetitively, understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position. Minimum acceptable training and experience: (a) high school or equivalency diploma, and (b) a clean, valid New York State driver’s license. Must be physically able to perform all job duties.

Substitute teachers are needed to work on a per diem basis for the Career and Tech Center at PNW BOCES. Successful candidates will work in an exciting, collaborative, team based environment where they will follow developed lesson plans in various career and trade area programs. Some examples of substitute duties include: Maintaining a safe classroom environment, supervision of students in various classroom settings such as technical classrooms and computer labs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must has a desire to work with students in grades 10-12, and to assist them in achieving their goals in their chosen field of study. Must be organized, thoughtful, positive, and able to follow developed lesson plans. Good communication skills to deal effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
