College credit and tuition awards are available to Tech Center students who complete a prescribed program of study and attain sufficient levels of success equivalent to that school’s accepted standards. Transferable credit is also available with minimal course registration fees at several colleges. The information below lists current articulation agreements with maximum credit to be awarded for the 2009-2010 school year. Please note that additional articulation agreements are currently under review and may be added to this list. Course Description

The exciting world of health care is predicted to be among the fastest growing fields of the next decade and beyond. In this one-year program, you will learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, communication skills, the legal and ethical aspects of patients’ rights, basic nursing skills, and nutrition. Along with classroom work, you will also gain practical experience in a long-term-care facility. Whether you choose to become a nurse aide or elect to continue your studies to qualify as a licensed practical nurse, this course will give you the fundamental knowledge and skills you need to enter the field of health care as a New York State-certified nurse aide.
