Six Students Move Up at Fox Meadow Middle School

June 19, 2018

Six students “moved up” from middle school to high school this week at a ceremony at the Fox Meadow campus in Yorktown.
Jonathan Alexander, Joseph Becker, Ethan Ihlefeldt, James Messina, Johnson Morgan and Ryan Ortiz were praised at the ceremony for working hard to grow academically and overcome individual challenges.
Principal Nicole Murphy told the students that she was proud of their growth over their middle school years.
“You are a talented group of guys. Among you are artists, athletes and entrepreneurs,” she said. “Use your talents to your benefit.”
Joseph Becker, who gave the student address, said he had learned that hard work and determination would lead to success. Although a little nervous to start high school, Joseph said he was also excited to move on to the next chapter of life.
“I feel confident about moving on to high school because I know I’m prepared,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by the students’ families, Fox Meadow staff and PNW BOCES administrators. PNW BOCES trustees Mary Cay Nilsen and Anita Feldman also attended.
