June 12, 2019

Eleven staff members were awarded tenure at Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES this week, having proven themselves to be of the highest caliber in their professions.

The tenure recipients included teachers, teaching assistants, social workers and administrators. The BOCES Board recognized the tenure recipients at its monthly meeting Tuesday, June 11, which was followed by a small reception with family and friends.
“Tenure is not automatic at BOCES. It is not just a function of time spent,” said District Superintendent Dr. James Ryan. “Everyone being granted tenure has gone through a rigorous evaluation process and met the highest standards.”

Administrators spoke about each of the tenure recipients, citing the outstanding work they had done, their positive attitudes and the many ways they embody the BOCES mission of service and innovation through partnership.

The tenure recipients were:
Stephanie Carnes, school social worker; Alyssa M. Cavorti, English teacher; Melissa Davis, home economics teacher; Lisa M.
