Creative Services Department Recognized for Excellence

The Creative Services Department at Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES was recognized for outstanding graphic design and video production by the New York School Public Relations Association this week.

Visual Designer Tricia Herbold won an Award of Merit for overall graphics and design for the Professional Development Opportunities in Learning catalogue. And Media Production Specialist Ed Catapano and Herbold received an Award of Merit for his Creative Services Department Promotional video.
Catapano also shared an Award of Excellence with the School Communications Service for a video on the impending closing of Indian Point in the Hendrick Hudson School District, and two Awards of Honor for videos on Technology in Mahopac classrooms and Mahopac School’s Innovative Programming.

“These awards underscore the talent and professionalism of the Creative Services Department and the high-quality work it produces,” said BOCES Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lynn Allen, who oversees the department. “We look forward to continuing to partner with districts in our region to tell their stories.”

The awards mark the second time in six months that the Creative Services Department has been recognized. The department was recognized during the summer by the National School Public Relations Association.

The Creative Services Department provides consultations and recommendations on a wide range of design options including the creation of signature looks for buildings, conference rooms and hallways that can be aligned with district mission/vision or other key school district initiatives. CSD also provides logos, brochures, letterhead, banners, posters and other visuals to school districts.

In partnership with the School Communications Service, Creative Services also creates videos for a variety of purposes including budget messages, program overviews, welcome videos and more. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lynn Allen oversees the Creative Services Department.
