ESY- Program Coordinators

DUTIES:
Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates operating a 6-week ESY Program for students with disabilities from July 1, 2019 through August 9, 2019. The ESY Program Coordinator is a seasonal leadership position that is responsible for the preparation, planning and supervision required to oversee the day to day operations of the ESY program (i.e. student management, transportation, scheduling).

KEY TASKS - assist with interviewing and hiring the ESY staff, as needed; assist with scheduling students into classes and their related services; assist with assigning staff; supervise and evaluate all of the ESY staff; maintain records and reports for students; effectively communicate with parents, students, staff, administrators, and districts. Other duties as required by the Director of Special Education or the State Education Department.

Coordinators will accept the responsibility for any outstanding hiring, scheduling, staffing assignments, and logistical program issues as of June 1, 2019.

PNW BOCES (Education Services) is seeking a full-time Technical Lead / Help Desk Coordinator to join our technology team based in Yorktown Heights, NY. In order to be successful in this role, you'll need a good blend of technical skills, leadership ability, commitment to exceptional customer service, and excellent follow-through. Please note that this is a highly technical “hands on” role.
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing technology support activities (including coordination/scheduling) of Help Desk staff involved in the efficient/timely delivery of IT services.
  • Provide technical leadership. This person is the first level of escalation for Level 1 and Level 2 Support staff.
  • Providing expert IT support for issues related to hardware, software, and systems. Diagnose and resolve issues remotely if appropriate.
  • Assigning service calls to help desk staff/vendors via a ticketing system, insuring that activities are properly prioritized, completed, and documented.

Food Service Manager (Cook - Manager)

DUTIES:
Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a need for a Food Service Manager whose primary function will be to supervise the Food Service staff for the Child Nutrition Program as well as prepare, cook and serve Type A and a la carte meals on a large scale to students and adults. This position is also responsible for the oversight and management of the student and adult food service during the 6 week summer Extended School Year Program.
Duties to include:

  • Supervises and participates in the preparation, cooking and serving of food including meats, poultry, fish, soups, vegetables, salads, etc.
  • Creates and follows standardized recipes for accurate food preparation; ability to interpret recipes and cooking measurements while keeping within Child Nutrition requirements
  • Responsible for creating monthly menus following all Child Nutrition guidelines
  • Responsible for keeping files on all production records, daily sales reports and standardized recipes
  • Supervises and participates in the cleaning of the kitchen, serving & storage areas as well as care of equipment
  • Orders food weekly and supplies as needed. Supervises the inventory and care of food and supplies.
  • Receives and inspects all deliveries for freshness and accuracy
  • Plans work assignments and keeps attendance records for staff
  • Ability to utilize POS system for student and adult transactions as well as prepare/distribute weekly reports (i.e. student negative balance letters)
  • Ability to conduct a food service operation in a cost effective and efficient manner

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school and/or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Minimum of 4 years’ experience where primary function was to prepare, cook and serve in a large scale setting; one year must be at a supervisory level. Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and Management may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience. Experience with all aspects of modern methods and equipment used in large scale food preparation.
Must have knowledge of Westchester County Health regulations. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet and POS systems. Must be able to use various computer applications to complete work assignments.
Must be physically able to perform job related duties. Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to read, write, speak and understand and communicate in English; neat and personal appearance.

DUTIES:
Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (Leave Replacement) to provide assessment and direct services to students with disabilities, primarily to students with autism and/or expressive and receptive language disorders. Will work in a collaborative classroom model as well as deliver individual services to students. The successful candidate will serve as an active member of the students’ educational and therapeutic team, assist in development and implementation of therapeutic intervention and transition plans, maintain contact with local school district representatives and parents and will prepare formal reports as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold valid New York State certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Applicants with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
