Center for Environmental Education

Overnights

There are two different types of overnights available: Fall and Spring. Overnight programs can be designed to focus on the goals of Character Education.

Fall Overnights (September - October)

This experience is a wonderful way for a class and teacher to get to know one another in an entirely different setting, and bond in a way that doesn’t happen in the classroom! During this overnight experience, the group can participate in team building activities such as the initiative games, challenge course, and orienteering. The group may choose to sleep on wooden bunks in our three-sided shelter, affectionately known as the Madden Marriott, or on the floor of the conference center. The group is responsible to provide their own food but may prepare it in the conference center kitchen. Please provide at least four parent chaperones per class. An outdoor education staff member is available to spend the night with the group to assist in coordination of the group. The fee is $90 per staff member. Special evening programs are available for an additional fee. These programs can be chosen from the programs listed in this catalog or outside consultants may be brought in. The fall overnight is done with one class.

Spring Overnights (April - June)

Groups can choose to sleep in wooden bunks in our three-sided shelter, affectionately known as the Madden Marriott or, on the floor of the conference center. A special canoe trip to the great swamp can be arranged for an additional fee. The group is responsible to provide their own food but may prepare it in the conference center kitchen. Please provide at least four parent chaperones. An outdoor education staff member is available to spend the night with the group to assist in the coordination of the group. The fee is $90 per staff member. Special evening programs are available for an additional fee. This program is done with one class.
