Course Offerings |
Summer School courses are for students who are
taking the course for a second time. It is expected that students have a basic
knowledge of the subject area and need the additional support to improve
examination and/or report card scores.
Classses will begin early July and end mid August. The program will run for 26 instructional days on a two period schedule. Period 1 will be from 7:45 am to 9:29 am; Period 2 will be from 9:33 am to 11:17 am.
Courses
will be given pending sufficient student enrollment. If there is insufficient
enrollment, a course may be cancelled or combined with another section of that
course. If this occurs all parties will be notified promptly.
Please note the following:
- Students
taking Earth Science and Living Environment must have completed all required
laboratory work prior to attending summer school. No laboratory activities are
available during summer school. The registration form must indicate that this
requirement has been satisfied.
- Earth Science students must take the Earth Science performance test (Part D) each time they take the written examination. Only the performance test administered during the last two weeks of the Earth Science course may be used to determine the students final examination score.
- The final determination of course offerings are dependent upon the number of students registering and the availability of staff.
- With
the advice of their guidance counselors, students may have to make choices if
required courses conflict with each other.
- Regents examinations are usually administered the same week that summer school ends in mid-August.
