Program Information
Program Title Ceramic Legacy Tile Mural
Program Description Tiles are a wonderful way to create individual 3 dimensional works of art in clay that can become greater than the sum of their parts when permanently installed in an architectural school setting. In many schools I work with a graduating classes to create a legacy tile mural. Students take great pride in seeing there tiles permanently installed for years to come. I actually make the tiles with the students allowing them to experience the full range of the ceramic process. There are many appropriate themes i.e. memorials, nature, respect, that could be incorporated in the building or court yard. Mural installations can be viewed on the website. Preston Elem. Sch, West Harrison, NY. Description: Native American Indian. Tile mural depicting symbols, patterns and imagery. Pierre Van Cortland MS, Croton, NY. Description: 7th grd. mural depicting the ecosystem and beauty in the rain forest. Lincoln Titus Elem. School-Peace Mural, 3rd grd. inspired by the painting, Peaceable Kingdom.
