Program Title Telling Community Stories: Oral History & Cultural Documentation
Program Description This program teaches participants to capture oral histories and community stories using the tools and techniques of cultural documentation. Examples include: capturing the stories of America's war veterans for the Veterans History Project; interviewing local heroes; documenting the history and practices of local artisans, ethnic groups, or sports teams; or capturing community history, such as local Underground Railroad stops. The program consists of 11 modules, which may be selected and customized according to school budgets, schedules and available equipment. The course fee is $500 per 45-60 minute session.
