The
students in Computer Graphics gain experience using such programs
as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, QuarkXPress, and Dreamweaver.
They also learn animation in their second year through the use of
various programs such as Flash, Poser, and Bryce. In addition, students
learn and follow the design process in each lesson. Equipped with
the skills learned in class, the students are able to create professional
quality work at both the individual and group level.
Aside
from learning various programs and techniques, members of the class
gain knowledge on both Macintosh and Windows platforms. The Computer
Graphics classroom is equipped with fourteen computers, divided
between the two operating systems. Scanners and digital cameras
round out the latest technology available not only to the Computer
Graphics students, but all students enrolled in the Communications
Academy.
Together with the Commercial
Art and TV Production classes, the Computer
Graphics class provides an enriching, realistic experience for students
who wish to pursue a career in the communications field.
