In the Senior four-hour option program you can earn a maximum total of six credits by taking a Tech program with the academic classes listed below.. This includes:
3 or 3 ½ credits for Career and Technical Education
1 credit for English 12 (qualified students may also earn 3 college credits
for Writing and Research I from State University of NY [SUNY])
½ credit for Economics (qualified students may also earn 3 college credits
for Business Management 101 from State University of NY [SUNY])
½ credit for Participation in Government
½ credit for Physical Education
Our four hour New Visions courses offer extensive field experience to qualified seniors.
- New Visions Health takes place in two local hospitals where students shadow hospital personnel from all departments.
- New Visions Engineering students explore the world of engineering through hands-on projects that integrate academics and engineering concepts. Job shadowing opportunities and site visits are coordinated throughout the school year enabling the students to see first-hand the activities and responsibilities related to various engineering disciplines.
New Visions students receive academic instruction in English and Government/Economics; they are eligible to earn three SUNY credits in English and three Syracuse University credits in Public Policy.
