Regional Personnel Services

Renée Gargano,Deputy Superintendent ----- Nancy Organ, Manager

The Regional Personnel Services Department offers a variety of cost-effective services that address the human resource needs of school districts. Many are offered in partnership with prestigious institutions, including Teachers College - Columbia University, Bank Street College of Education, Cornell University, Pace University, New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS), Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents (LHCSS), National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), National Institute for School Leadership (NISL) and Decker Communications. Services include professional development for current and future administrators, interview training for administrators, staff development for support staff, a consortium for employee assistance and a substitute finder system. Come Teach With Us recruits individuals in the areas of science, mathematics, and languages other than English while the fingerprinting and videoconferencing services assist school districts in completing the hiring process.

The cornerstones of the department are the Regional Recruitment program, which uses a state-of-the-art online application system (OLAS) to recruit qualified educational candidates to the area and The Center for Educational Leadership, which was launched in the fall of 2006. The Center provides school leaders at all levels with a comprehensive array of practical learning opportunities to arm them with the knowledge, perspective, skills and experiences they need to meet the challenges of public education today. It provides training programs and services that are economical and flexible, utilizing national consultants as well as successful practitioners. All offerings are anchored in the current realities of school leadership.
