Tech Center Students Take Prizes at SkillsUSA

 

 

Pictured Above: Tech Center students at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES rocked the SkillsUSA competition at Rockland County Community College recently.

Tech Center students from Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES ruled at the recent SkillsUSA competition, held at Rockland County Community College, taking home many top prizes.

The students excelled at everything from First Aid and CPR to Digital Cinema categories and everything in between. The winners are: For Digital Cinema, 1st place: Emily Park (Mahopac) and Corrine Zastenchik (Putnam Valley); for Extemporaneous Speech, 1st place: Christopher Pereira (Carmel); for First Aid CPR, 1st place: Jennifer Rojas (Ossining), 2nd place: Nicholas Mills (Lakeland); for Job Interview, 2nd place: Kristen Corona (Mahopac); for Job Skills Demo,1st year, 1st place: Frankie Anne Castelluccio (Somers), 2nd year, 1st place: Mikayla Barton (Hendrick Hudson), 2nd place: Morgan Hotaling (Haldane); for Nurse’s Aide: 1st place: Faith McDowell (Ossining); for Prepared Speech, 1st place: Amanda Rozell (Carmel); for TV/Video Production, 1st place: Joseph Vaccaro (Carmel) and Amber Wright (Carmel), 2nd place: Maxwell Dezell (Bedford) and Jacob Cooperman (Putnam Valley).

SkillsUSA is a nationwide partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. The competition helps students hone their skills by enabling them to compete with their peers at the highest level.
